[There's a strangled, muffled scream when the audio clicks on, which is abruptly cut off by a wet sounding thump. Erik's cheery when he finally talks. NOTHING WRONG HERE, EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL AND NOTHING HURTS except for the poor bastard he's repoing.]

They get so loud sometimes, don't they. Sorry about that, I know how delicate some of you new folks can be. [He laughs, and it's not. particularly. pleasant. He starts whistling to himself, and other sounds fill the audio for a few seconds; very unpleasant, scalpels-meeting-skin sounds.]

The faire has been a nightmare in traffic. Some of us have kids to pick up from school, you know. Can't wait for that opera though, hm? Blind Mag's last show, it's bound to be a real smash. Did anyone get tickets?

[That was the sound of bones breaking; he's still whistling, still sounds like this is the most normal thing in the world.] There you are, you little fucker-- Spine replacements are always tricky. So many bones and nerves relying on one flexible bit of skeleton, mm? Terrible thing to lose one. [Erik laughs again, and this one's outright eery.] But that's debt for you. Every society needs its rules. [Another scream tears over the airwaves, but it's cut short with a few wet gurgles.] Shame.

Magda, sweetheart, if you're listening: do we need milk?

((OOC: Since it's all voice I can't add this in but Erik had some aesthetic/useful enhancements to his teeth. Because he's a shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaark, duh.))

[Seeing the knife coming at him, Raistlin tried to dodge out of the way, but he wasn't fast enough, and soon the knife sank, thanks to his movement, not into his head, but into his shoulder. Raistlin screamed for a second, before his voice dissolved into a series of coughs despite the mask that filtered the air.]

[Which gave Erik the opportunity to close the distance between them. He wrapped his hand around the hilt and twisted it in Raistlin's shoulder, pushing it deeper and forcing the golden-skinned man to his knees.]

Your heart doesn't need to beat to extract your eyes, you know.

[A few more coughs, and a wheeze, and a blinding feeling of burning pain practically stopped Raistlin's struggling as he collapsed to his knees. He grimaced.]

Yes. I know. If you're going to kill me, get it over with already.

[At least he could be fairly certain that he'd then respawn on the Barge.

[Erik twisted the knife again, another quarter turn, and he bent down so Raistlin wouldn't see the pointed flash of his smile, the pointed teeth and wicked rows.]

My pleasure, friend. You've been downright dull.

[He yanked the knife out of Raistlin's shoulder, then, and in one smooth movement, dragged it across the man's throat.]

[A gurgling sound could be heard, and for a second Raistlin wished he hadn't asked for it to end, feeling a sudden and inexplicable instinctual surge of terror when he tried to scream and only blood came out of his mouth and throat. He collapsed on the ground, golden hourglass eyes wide as his mouth twisted into an expression of horror and pain and his body struggled to function for a few moments more before he grew still.]

[Erik grinned as that flash of fear passe over Raistlin, shaking his head. It was a natural human instinct, one he was more than familiar with, but people always tried to play it brave. By now, Erik just found it funny. They never just accepted that they were going to scream, and wet themselves, and beg. He loved the brave ones.]

Ahh, music to my ears. [He mimed the gurgling, and didn't bother to wait for Raistlin to go still before he turned his knife on those hourglass eyes. Job well done, in his book.]
